Ensuring Global Food Security Requires Science, Technology, and Social Responsibility
University of Missouri – St. Louis is hosting the Christopher S. “Kit” Bond Lecture Series, “Ensuring Global Security Requires Science, Technology, and Social Responsibility” on Thursday, November 10th. There have been remarkable changes in agriculture and food production during the past century and factors such as policy decisions, climate change and episodic crop failures impede rates of progress in achieving global food security. Dr. Roger N. Beachy, Professor Emeritus, Department of Biology at Washington University in St. Louis will draw on his experiences in academic research, technology development, and in government institutions to suggest a pathway for American ingenuity and industry to lead the way to global food security.
