ENGAGE IN TRADE: FOREIGN TRADE ZONES – AN OPTION FOR MITIGATING TARIFFS?

Date: May 15, 2025
Time: 12:00 pm  to  1:15 pm

Foreign-Trade Zones (FTZs) or Free-Trade Zones, as they are known internationally, have been in existence for many years, but in the current trade climate, many companies are considering them for the first time, as a way to minimize the risks and costs of current global trade challenges.

Our expert speaker will explain what an FTZ is and what they are designed to do. We will examine the pros and cons of FTZs, compare their benefits to those of “Duty Drawback” or bonded warehouses, and introduce some of the “back-of-the-napkin” tests for determining whether it’s right for your company.

Finally, as the administrator of FTZs in the region, the World Trade Center will walk through the steps and a typical timeline for setting up an FTZ at your facility.
